Kay’s career in real estate and closing transactions began at the young age of 18 in Houston, Texas where she obtained her real estate license and worked for a company that specialized in selling nursing home facilities across the country. After seeing the value in becoming an expert in a niche market, Kay obtained her real estate broker’s license at age 20. Her initial interest was to broker apartment communities, but after building relationships with apartment owners and management companies, she decided to offer relocation and property management services to the major employers throughout Houston and Dallas to help transferring executives find and secure short-term corporate housing.
This venture led her to open her own apartment locating company in both Houston and North Dallas. She successfully hired and trained a team of agents who worked tirelessly with local Chambers of Commerce organizations to become “the” source for relocation assistance.
In 2001, in the aftermath of 9/11, Kay’s husband was offered a position in WA State that they could not turn down. With two very young children in tow, she decided to take a break from full time employment and devoted her free time to volunteering in her new community on Bainbridge Island. In 2017, as an empty nester, Kay enthusiastically returned to the work force. For the last three years, she has worked a loan processor at Bainbridge Lending Group, and in 2019 obtained her mortgage loan originator license in WA State.
Kay thoroughly enjoys helping others build wealth through real estate ownership. While she doesn’t work on the real estate end anymore, she is fortunate to have excellent relationships with area real estate experts.
